Hair + Makeup FAQ's
How far in advance do you book?
We start accepting bookings up to 12 months in advance. Our books open on the 1st of each month for the following calendar year.
Where are you based and do you travel?
Our artists are based in Tampa, FL. We service all surrounding areas and even long-distance or destination weddings. We love to travel with you!
What is your travel fee?
My travel fees are based on the location where services are to take place. Travel fees start at $50 per artist. Please inquire within with the details of your wedding for a personalized estimate.
How do I book?
To secure your wedding date, a non-refundable retainer equal to 50% of the bride’s services plus 25% of the remaining balance is due at the time of booking. This retainer reserves your date and the required number of artists for the bride and bridal party and will be applied toward the total balance. The remaining balance is due no later than fourteen (14) days prior to the wedding date. A signed service agreement outlining the retained services and company policies is also required to confirm the booking.
Do you have a minimum?
We do not have a minimum for number of people being serviced, but we do have a $600 minimum spend (excludes previews + miscellaneous fees) for Friday-Sunday weddings + events. A la carte pricing may apply for events 30 days or less out from your requested date.
Do you do trials before I book with you?
Preview sessions are reserved exclusively for contracted brides for their wedding day services. These sessions are considered a refinement of services and include an in-person meeting where we conduct a thorough consultation, discuss your bridal vision, and create and refine your desired look.
If you choose to schedule a trial prior to committing to your wedding booking, this may be done at the full bridal rate. Please note that your wedding date will not be reserved or held until a signed contract and retainer payment have been received. Additionally, even if a trial is completed prior to booking, an additional preview session will still be recommended 1–3 months before the wedding day as a final refinement step.
Can I do more than one preview?
Second preview sessions are not uncommon and are often encouraged. We view preview sessions as a first look—not a final exam. Sometimes what you envision doesn’t fully align with what feels right once you see it come to life, and that’s completely okay. Preview sessions are a time to explore different looks and styles, receive expert suggestions from your artist, and refine your vision until it truly feels like you.
Second preview sessions are quoted at the same rate as the initial preview.
What if I can't do a preview before the wedding?
While previews are always recommended and encouraged for a seamless beauty experience before the wedding, we do not. require them. Let me know before booking that you wish you opt out of a preview and I will be sure to remove the cost associated with the preview from your package.
Which artist will I be booked with?
Artists are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. You may request a specific artist for your wedding if there is someone you would prefer to work with, and availability will be confirmed accordingly. If you are flexible with your artist selection, all of our artists work in alignment with The Veil Beauty Co.’s style and brand standards and are committed to delivering exceptional results that exceed expectations.
What are my deadlines?
30 days prior to the wedding, all timeline information will need to be communicated to The Veil Beauty Co.
2 weeks all final payments must be submitted. Your 25% retainer fee will be applied to the overall cost.
Do I need to provide anything?
No! I provide everything from products to lighting to directors chairs. The only thing I request that you provide is ample room to set up our stations and a large table or counter space.
Are you able to accommodate large weddings?
Yes! Based on your party size and timeline restrictions, that would determine the number of artists I will need to reserve for your event. Anything over 8 people receiving services will need a second artist performing the same services.
Do you automatically apply gratuity to your service costs?
No. We believe gratuity should be earned based on an exceptional experience and services provided. Gratuity is always appreciated, never expected. Leaving us a review goes a long way a well to show us your appreciation!
How do you accept payments?
I take Venmo, PayPal and card. It it the responsibility of the bride to collect all of her bridal party's payments in advance and submit it altogether. I do not accept individual payments from each bridal party member as it is hard for me to keep track of who in your party has paid vs. who has not.
Do you do "eyes only" services?
No, I do not offer partial makeup services.
Did I miss anything?
Send me a message and I'm sure I have an answer!
